 :: Designed with Love ::

When I first started my adventure in content creation back in 2016, I wasn't PastelSpell. It took me a while to figure out my brand, my aesthetic, and my target audience. But when I finally did, I completely relaunched everything - I knew where I wanted to go, and my old name, designs, and aesthetic weren't going to help me get there. It didn't reflect my style, my values, or my content, and it wasn't drawing in followers...So I started fresh from the ground up. BEST. DECISION. EVER. Since rebranding, I saw a significant increase in growth. Not only that, but I gained a more meaningful and interactive base of followers - people who really connect with my brand and enjoy interacting with me and my content. And now I feel way more confident about the content I'm putting out there, because I know it reflects ME!

A few years before that, I had a similar experience while running my own business. During that time, I discovered a real passion for branding, graphic design, and marketing. I loved playing around with my logo designs, tweaking my website's appearance, making new social media materials. And so, I decided to offer those services to others! I provided design services to small creative businesses, helping other business owners go through their own rebrands. Eventually, I decided to retire that business for personal reasons, but I still loved design and maintained my passion for quality branding, and translated those skills into my personal content creating journey.

Fast forward to now, and my more relatively recent foray into streaming...and I finally feel like I'm home. Not only do I obviously love the craft of streaming itself, but the chance to work in such a visually-impactful and brand-focused medium has been incredibly creatively fulfilling for me. Creating my panels, overlays, and merch was an absolutely magical experience...but I never thought to combine my past experience with commissioned work and my newfound love of streaming. I was just making pretty things because I loved them! Well, my streamer friends finally dropped enough hints to get through my big dummy skull, and here we are! I reopened my design commissions in 2020 - this time specifically for streamers and content creators.

 :: Let's make some magic! ::

Have you just started streaming and are looking for a way to stand out? Have you been around for a while but want a new look, maybe even with a new name? Either way, if you're reading this, chances are you know that having a cohesive but unique brand is more important now than ever. More and more people are flocking to streaming platforms every day and making snap decisions about whether or not you're worthy of their viewership. What makes YOU different?

  "You never get a second chance to make a first impression."

  -Oscar Wilde

In streaming, you have a very small window of time to make a first impression on a potential viewer. They need to not only decide to click YOUR thumbnail in a huge directory, but also be impressed enough to stay (and hopefully follow). Six seconds is the average amount of time you get. And it can be difficult to show off your awesome personality, welcoming community, or kickass gameplay in such a short time...so what are they judging? Oftentimes, it's your visuals.

I want to help you and your channel succeed and let you focus on the work you love, rather than be frustrated by an overwhelming overlay or uninspiring panels. So, how can I help?

I can create entirely new graphics for you, or incorporate existing assets. I can make you one image or redo your whole brand. I want to help you get exactly what you need to be the best creator you can be.

GOOD TO KNOW:

  • While I always work as quickly as I can and do my best to provide accurate turnaround times, the total amount of time for your project partially depends on your responsiveness.

  • I typically do most of my commission work in the beginning of the week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) - though you can contact me with questions or requests at any time. Please understand that these days are when you are most likely to receive concepts, drafts, and/or revisions.

  • It's super important to me that you absolutely love your designs, so there's no limit on the number of revisions (within reason). Please don't feel bad about giving me feedback! Commissions are a collaborative process - I can't create what you want if you don't tell me!

  • Try to be descriptive in your feedback - tell me why you don't like something, or give me an idea on how to make it closer to your vision.

  • Honest feedback is important on both sides. Sometimes I might tell you your idea/feedback isn't the best option for us - this isn't to be controlling of the design (or that I'm ignoring what you want), but to ensure we end up with the best possible design when we're finished. I'll always explain why I think something might not work, whether that's an aesthetic choice or a technical limitation, and do my best to come up with another solution I think you'll like! Again, commissions are a collaboration, and part of what you're paying for is my expertise, experience, and vision. I consider this part of my obligation to you as a designer.

  • While I try to be as accurate and descriptive of colors as possible, please note that some monitors may show colors differently.

  • Fonts used are not included due to licensing agreements; however, I will happily provide the names of your fonts upon request.

  • Finalized files are sent in high-quality .png or .mp4 format as appropriate, and will be sized/formatted to be as optimized as possible for your broadcasting software of choice (and created with overall ease of use in mind).

PRICING, PAYMENT, AND POLICIES:

  • The average price for my work ranges from $75-$500+ USD, and will vary depending on the number, type, and complexity of designs you need. Full rebrands will typically be in the $700-1200+ range. You're paying for 7+ years of design experience, an eye for detail, and personalized graphics made just for you - never a regurgitated design.

  • I need an itemized list of the elements you're looking for to provide you a quote - to save us both time, please include this in your initial contact if you're able to and be as detailed as possible!

  • A non-refundable 50% deposit is due upfront, and work will not begin until after this is received. Once your project is completed, the remainder of your balance is due and finalized images will not be released until your balance is paid.

    • Note: Payment for smaller projects with a total cost of $100 or less will be due up front and in full.

  • If you need to rush your commission, please be aware that there will be an additional non-refundable rush fee of 30-50% due upfront with your deposit, provided I am able to fit a rush commission into my workload at that time.

  • Changes made after elements have been completed and approved, or an excessive amount of revisions may incur additional charges at my discretion (you will be notified before this occurs and I will not move forward without your consent and payment).

  • You may not use any in-progress/unpaid for designs. You do not have the rights to use any of my work until you have paid the final invoice, unless you've specifically asked for and received permission to do so. Please note, this will usually require payment in-full and will forfeit your rights to a refund of any kind.

  • Due to the digital nature of these items, no refunds will be given once your project is completed and files have been sent. If at any time during the process you feel I am no longer a good fit for your brand, you may cancel the agreement. Please note, however, that there will be a kill fee of 25% if drafts have already been sent, and your initial deposit is always non-refundable. Please do not commission me if you cannot afford the full value of my work.

  • I retain all rights for terminated/abandoned projects or rejected concepts, which may be re-tooled and sold as pre-made stream kits on my Etsy.

  • I do not accept payment plans, but the half upfront/half later applies to all commissions. If you cannot afford a full project all at once, consider prioritizing certain elements first and commissioning me again for the rest at a later date! Or check out my more affordable, pre-made options in my Etsy shop.

  • Please do not edit any of my work in any way, unless I've given you explicit permission to do so.

  • I reserve the right to showcase my work for you in my portfolio, on social media, or other places where professional examples of past work may be appropriate.

  • Tips are always appreciated, but never required!

  • If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

"Pastel was an amazing person to work with, both before, during and after the commission was completed. Like most content creators that have no experience with art, I had a vague idea what I wanted but wasn't sure on the tiny details. Pastel helped me bring my rebrand to life with her creativity and nailed the aesthetic I was going for first try. She was also extremely communicative which is always very important to me when working with an artist, giving updates and even offering different options for the designs we chose. I would 10/10 recommend and will definitely be working with her again!"

"Pastel is a pleasure to work with. She works to get you not only what you want, but what you need whilst being realistic and transparent throughout the whole process. I am endlessly grateful for the absolute lack of BS in her process, which is exactly what a busy gal like me needs. I have recommended her to anyone and everyone that will listen, because working with every artist should be so stress-free."

"I cannot recommend PastelSpell enough. When I realized I needed assets for my show in a short amount of time, I panicked but PastelSpell was able to come up with an amazing design that fits the needs of my production & did so with gusto. From the initial contact session to the constant communication, PastelSpell is an artist who knows her worth & value and you should too. You will not regret anything that she does for you!"

"Jessica was a dream to work with. She put so much time and energy into every detail, and was great to collaborate with on my rebrand. She was flexible with my requested changes and prompt in getting back to me with new mock-ups. Overall, I'm super happy with the entire experience and would definitely recommend PastelSpell!"

"Working with PastelSpell for both my logo design and my pre-made kit recolor was an absolute treat! She was quick to respond to any inquiries or thoughts I had about both, and her eye for design and color is really top notch. I've contacted her about needing other things for my overlays and even that was a breeze. 10/10 would pay for her expertise and skill again and again!"
